The Best Book in France since the beginning of the Périgueux Awards, in 1990, according to the French "La Mazille" Jury of Périgueux: Le Grand Livre d’Alain Ducasse (ADF). This book towers over all other books. So it is the Best Book of the last 12 years in French awards.

La Cuisine Chez Regis Marcon, par Regis Marcon (Le Miroir-France)
La Mazille wrote the 1929 best seller on Perigord cuisine. The La Mazille Prize from Périgueux rewards the best book in France respecting the traditions and values of good cookbook writing.
Prix "La Mazille 2001" is for chef Regis Marcon, from Clermont Ferrand, voted Chef of the Year by his peers.
His book is a work of art in itself, with two years spent in production. It was featured in a special television program showing the publishing process for this book as a standard of excellence for art books.

Dorie Greenspan also co-authored the first Alain Ducasse masterpiece in English. Pierre Hermé received this award on November 20, his 40th birthday.

Emotions Gourmandes, by Fredy Girardet (Favre-Switzerland)
Fredy Girardet is a living legend. Now retired, his restaurant lives on as the "Hotel de Ville", in Lausanne, Switzerland, with 3 stars. Emotions Gourmandes is a tribute to his creative carreer. He has many disciples from Joel Robuchon in France to Gray Kunz in New York.
